The comic up to this point was more of “A Day in the Life..” of Posey and Mort. It lead more into a series of gags showing their relationship. This one was really just an excuse to draw funny expressions. The lines in this one is actually a reference to a book that I heard about (but haven’t read) and who’s name escapes me at the moment. But it’s about the science of cooking, and I thought that that would be a good thing between Posey and Mort. He can appreciate the chemical properties of it (and lick the spoon) and Posey gets to make good food and spend time with Mort.

Unfortunately the plans of mice and men (and rabbits) seem to think otherwise.

This comic started out with me wanting Sean to draw Posey drawing Mort. I think it stems from those pics from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie that April drew. I love the idea that Mort wears a Darwinfish necklace, and that Posey actually got Mort to pose for her, Titanic style. That one was actually a throw away idea that, had we thrown it away, the comic wouldn’t have happened.

Part 3 for Mosey on… I saw that hat somewhere on the internet. I think it’s something Posey would plop on Mort’s noggin. And of course Mort would scowl and fume and deep inside I think appreciate that she can see past that. Posey is good like that. The stick person on there, is on the original drawing, and the colors and splatters in there are exactly how I wanted it to look, I think maybe more so than any other recent panel. Except maybe that last panel. Burnt Mort is BURNT.

New picture on deviantArt!

So yeah, Mort and Posey. The biggest hurdle with this one was handling Mort’s nose. I drew this one for hours. It was all like hoo! What do I do with their hands? Would Posey really just put her foot up like that? Yeah she totally would. POSEY SIDE VIEW WOW! Still, I had a lot of fun with this one.

Something big guys. When I proposed this arc, I looked at the fact that Mort and Posey haven’t been seen in continuity since last year. I wonder what they’ve been up to for the last couple of months? People have been asking about Posey and Mort for a long time, and I love to mess around with the relationship proponents (shippers if you will) through different ways. But there you go. I hope you like this one.

Hopefully this is the start of something big.

Let me tell you, John was against this from the start. Until I griped and pissed and moaned and then came up with a nice pitch. I don’t want to spoil anything, but suffice it to say it will be nice. (I HOPE!)
