ReDoo 001 Panel 5
When I first did this comic, I was in question on whether I'd do the whole thing or not. This was the test that not only helped me figure out the coloring style I used, but made me want to do the rest of it. This is the whole uncropped image of the last panel of ReDoo. Penny, Scooby and Shaggy. I had a ton of problems with this comic while drawing it. First of all, I didn't want to ink it. Originally I wanted to just do the whole thing in the computer. All of it would be Photoshop. That didn't really pan out (maybe I should stop trying these big projects for that). Then I had a problem with Penny. Would she actually be Inspector Gadget's neice, or would she be a normal woman they find on the road? Originally I decided the latter, but after reading most of the comments on Deviant Art, I decided that maybe she actually is his neice, since people really seemed to like the idea. Then it was the coloring. I wanted to do something darker and with a more painted look, but at the same time retain that cartoony look of Shaggy and Scooby. All the while making them and Penny consistant. So that meant that Shaggy had to be the middle man. Scooby could still be doglike, but be detailed enough to match Shaggy, but Shaggy had to be detailed enough to match Penny and cartoony to match Scoob. All was well after three weeks and a mad rush to the end resulting in an update at seven in the morning. But all that was the comic. This ws the test for that. And it was fun so I'm good. And you are too if you read all that.
